2) Instructions for Submission of a Proposal for a Plenary Session/ Panel Discussion

Proposals from those who would like to facilitate a panel discussion are welcomed. The conference will set aside space for those who wish to pursue discussion of a particular topic or issue.

Interested individuals should submit an abstract of no more than 300 words, on or before March 15. Abstract of the proposed panel should state clearly the activity, purpose and expected outcomes of the panel. In addition, the proposal should indicate the duration of the panel discussion.

The following steps are suggested to organize a panel session:

1) Identify a special topic in the scope of CSAAR '08, and the session title.

 2) Submit a proposal of no more than 300 words. Send the proposal by email to Dr Jamal AL-Qawasmi (). Submissions should be in PDF or MS Word format. Proposals should be sent on or before March 15.

3) If the identified topic is suitable, the Conference Chair will accept the proposal, and you will receive an acceptation by e-mail, in a few days. This acceptation is not a final approval of the proposed session, but a pre-approval. The final approval will depend on identifying at least five papers for the proposed session, to be presented at the conference, and informing, at least, about their titles. With this acceptance, the proposed session will be included in the conference web page as well as its organizer's and chair's names.

4) Contact researchers and/or practitioners in your field to see if they can contribute a paper to your proposed session and attend at CSAAR 2008B.

5) Collect the position papers drafts from each prospective participant.

6) The Organizing Committee with the panel session chairs/organizers will review the proposed position papers. If the papers fulfill all the requirements (i.e. quality), the proposed session will be approved. All the approved panel sessions will be included in the CSAAR 08 conference program.

Note: Authors may request their position papers to be subject to blind peer review; in this case position papers should be submitted on May 01, 2008. Position papers peer reviewed and accepted for panels will be published in the Conference Proceedings. The decision of CSAAR 2008 on whether to accept a submission is final.

Note: No author, including the organizer, can present more than two papers in the panel session. A scholar/researcher can co-author more papers, but he, or she, cannot present more than two papers in the same session.

3) Instructions for Submission of a Proposal for a Workshop

Proposals from those who would like to facilitate a workshop for conference participants are welcome. Workshop abstracts will be listed in the Conference Proceedings.

Interested individuals should submit an abstract of up to 300 words on or before April 15. Abstract of the proposed workshop should state clearly the activity, purpose and expected outcomes of the workshop. In addition, the proposal should indicate the duration of the workshop and if it requires a particular type of space.

The Organizing Committee will review all proposals for suitability. The decision of CSAAR 2008 on whether to accept a submission is final.

  • Authors of posters and Leaders of Workshops and panel discussions are responsible for meeting the costs of their  registration, travel and accommodation.
