Conference Excursions
 ONE-DAY TOURS (2, 7, or 8, Nov 2008)
 For those who might be interested to extend their stay in Jordan to discover the undisclosed corners of the country, we strongly recommend the post-conference excursions. You can choose from the following packages. For reservation please contact Sabina , from plaza tours, and indicate the tour code and the number of persons you reserve for. Do keep in mind that reservation for the post-conference excursion should be done before October 20, 2008.

1. All excursions will only be offered if a minimum number of  participants is guaranteed. In order to facilitate your and our planning process we recommend you to send in your reservation as soon as possible. The reservation deadline is October 20, 2008. 

2. We will send you all necessary information concerning the  payment method as soon as the number of participants can be confirmed.

Tour #1:

full-day sightseeing of Petra. You will be visiting the rose-red city known as Sela in the Bible and lost to the world for five centuries until it was rediscovered in 1812.  Enter Petra on horseback through a narrow gorge  carved in the sandstone and opening on the stunning view of the Treasury, made famous in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”.  Visit the palace, the High Palaces and the Roman-Style Palace Tomb.

Lunch will be at Basin Crwon Plaza Restaurant.

Tour#2:

Full Day Visiting Jerash & Ajloun: Visit the ancient city of Jerash the most complete and well preserved city of the Roman Empire . Jerash is one of the Decapolis cities of the north of Jordan . Nestled in a green and well-watered valley in the biblical land of Gilead , the remains of the ancient city have long attracted tourists from all around the world, Wander among the original temples, theaters, plazas, paths and colonnaded streets, all enclosed within the remaining city walls.

Then drive throght the pine forests and olive groves until we reach the city of Ajloun. Then proceed to Ajlun forests and the Castle of Saladin. Ajloun Castle, more formally known as Qalaat er-Rabad, is the major ancient site within the Ajloun forests region overlooking the Jordan Valley.

Tour#3:

 Full Day visiting, Um Qais, Tabqet Fahel “Pela”: Visit Um Qais You will visit Um Qais which offers beautiful views over the Northern Jordan valley, the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights . Um Qais is known for its beautiful over looking Lake Tiberius. Then Proceed to Tabqet Fahel “Pella” which has yield an impressive display of Archaeological evidence revealing human presence from early neolithic times at present. The remains of a bronze afe fort, along with churches, houses and shops from various periods.

Tour#4:

Full Day Visiting Madaba, Nibo, Babtism Site & Dead Sea: visiting on the way Madaba the city of Mosaics, which has the oldest known mosaic map of the holy land. After that we will go to view the Jordan Valley from the famous Mount Nebo visiting its Byzantine Church Then proceed to the site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptized, has long been known from the Bible and from the Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River.

Then proceed to Dead sea, Visit the Dead Sea which is the lowest point on earth 400 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world.Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish in it! Swimming in The Dead Sea is quite an incredible feeling as it is impossible to sink in the thick brine, which is four times as salty as regular sea water.
